Q. What sort of events do you cater for?
A. Apart from school incursions and vacation care I have done several other events. A list of other organisations I have worked with is here.
The list includes, museums, home-schoolers, scout/cubes/guide groups, shopping centres, martial arts groups, the Defence Force, PCYC, councils, festivals, shows, conferences and more!

A. Yes. I have done a lot of birthday parties.  I charge $385 + travel expenses if you live more than 80 km from Hobart. More about parties can be found here

Q. How many participants can you take in a session?
A. For birthday parties, I recommend around 12 -14 participants. I charge an extra $10 for each participant above 18. Can provide for up to 24 children.

For other events I am flexible. I am hesitant to do public events where people come and go because it is too hard to monitor my equipment and often it gets mistreated. But I have done plenty of ticketed public events that have been very successful at places like shopping centres, councils and museums.

Q. What ages to you cater for?
A. My robots best suit ages 5-16 but occasionally I do workshops that also have 3 and 4 year-olds. If there are lots of young ones, then they will need help from grown-ups in addition to me!

Q.What is the best amount of time for each session
A. For birthday parties I usually do two one hour sessions with a 30-minute break in between. Usually a different robot in each session. Or Lego Spike Prime. for both sessions if your child wants to battle some bots!

Most of my sessions, outside of birthday parties, are designed to go for 90 minutes. Sometimes 120 minutes if we are using Lego Spike Prime.

Q. What sort of robots do you use?
A. I have a set of Dash, Cubelets,  Sphero Indi and also Tale-Bot Pros, Lego Mindstorms EV3 and Lego Spike Prime.  . My most recent purchase was a set of Coding Express trains!

To accompany my robots I have made several resources such as board games, mazes, puzzles, race tracks, train tack templates, sumo boards, battle planks, a soccer field, and more!

Q. What sort of space does the host need to provide?
A. A clean indoor space. Carpet or no carpet is fine.

I just need a couple of tables out front, near a power-point.

If you have an available TV or projector then that’s great, but I can set up my own if needed.

I do not need computers or internet access. Some of my robots require an iPad, which I will bring!

Q. Where are you based?
A. I live in Hobart but I travel all over Tassie. More than half my bookings are near Hobart, but I also spend a lot of time on the road.
