Why am I Robot Man?

I believe that most teachers want to see their students enjoy school.

I believe students love new technologies and thrive when given a chance to use it creatively.

I believe school should be fun. When it is fun, learning takes place.

I believe I get students to be genuinely excited about learning.

I believe what I do is excellent for relationships and self esteem. It can lead to successes in other areas of school life.

I believe coding and robotics encourages creativity and inspires students to show initiative.

I believe coding and robotics teach kids to persevere, because no-one ever gets their code or their robot perfect the first time.

I believe coding and robotics helps students become resilient. It encourages good sportsmanship.

Some of the kids I teach shine brightest when they are making or coding a robot. It might be the only thing they are good at; but they instantly earn the respect of everyone around them.

Things learnt while playing with robots, can last a lifetime.

I believe that coding and robotics are amazing avenues into 'real learning'.

My goal is that at the end of the day, everyone walks away thinking, "That was fantastic!"

​Gone are the days where a teacher is expected to know everything. Rather, we are facilitators that guide and inspire kids into being life-long learners. We live in an age where technology is more accessible than ever, and if you are not using it, your kids are missing out.
