Quotes from just some teachers at
St Theresa's Catholic School, Moonah. "The students had an excellent time. They really enjoyed being able to have lots of time to explore and play." "The session ran smoothly and instructions for each step were explained well to the students." "The students were so engaged for the whole session. It was a great opportunity for the students to experience robotics, some for the first time." "The students particularly enjoyed the battling and would love to learn some more about coding next time." "The Grade One's and Two's are already asking about when the Robot Man can come back again!" I did seven 90-minute workshops over three days with all St Therese's classes from from Prep - Grade 6, July 2023. And did similar in September 2024. |

Thank you Robot Man for an hour of learning and fun! From the moment the kids walked into the space you had set up with the soccer pitch, colourful challenge mats lying around and the bank of blue robots sitting on a table behind you, you had piqued their interest. Your brief introduction and explanation meant that interest was soon directed at engagement and activity, and for the next 30 or so minutes, discussion, teamwork and trial and error had them totally absorbed. The last 20 minutes of short explanation and ‘robot soccer’ was a lot of fun! Competitive juices and timed partner swaps on the controls meant everyone was busy, either yelling advice or desperately trying to get their robots to comply. We thoroughly enjoyed the hour!

"Robot Man came to our school and the kids were completely engaged with all the sessions and all the activities he did, plus it really contributed and helped me with my STEM teaching across the grades. It was a fantastic experience, and I’d do it again in the blink of an eye."
Tony Deayton - Digital Technology Leader/STEM St John's Catholic School, Richmond |
"Robot Man visited the Year 4 cohort at Sorell School. The kids were amazed at how much equipment Steve brought with him, they were able to follow along his instructions very easily and he was accommodating to all learning levels in our classes. Steve taught the kids how to build and code their robots in order to battle along the plank. I even made my own robot to battle the kids… Steve gave me some hints however the kids' creativity with the LEGO spike won against mine! We loved our session with Steve and I had many questions as to when he could return 😊"
Lauren Wiggens- Grade 4 Teacher Sorell School |
"The Robot Man workshop was a wonderful way for students to learn about robotics, coding and digital technologies. Each session was extremely entertaining for students and kept them thoroughly engaged. It was a very enriching learning experience for students."
Lynne Hanlon AST/Primary Numeracy coach Bowen Road Primary School |
"Our students absolutely loved ROBOT MAN!
Our 2 hour session was filled with rich discussion and hands-on opportunities to develop creativity, team-work, problem-solving skills, resilience, as well as some healthy competition! The students were fully engaged the entire time!" Lauren Bartush, Grade 5 Teacher St Anthony's Catholic School, Riverside |
"Steve aka Robot Man has been an absolute pleasure to have in our school. Our students were motivated and engaged for every single moment lapping up the opportunities to work with a variety of technologies. Steve’s flexibility in delivery allowed our small school to have multiple sessions, building upon the learning each time. Conscious of the challenge of playing and learning Steve structured learning opportunities in a naturally progressive fashion allowing the students to learn for themselves through trial and error. A fantastic whole school learning opportunity."
Nadine Davey – Principal Bothwell District High School |
"The Robot man entertained and engaged over 400 of our students with his enthusiasm, fun coding and amazing robots.
From coding to building to playing every student was engaged, learning and enjoying the sessions with the Robot Man. Steve’s humour and years of experience as a teacher maximised the opportunities to teach coding and engage students. Each session was tailored and relevant to the students allowing full participation. Students were amazed at what they could create and do with the robotics. Thank you Steve, we hope to see you and your robots next year!" Regina Keep - Science Teacher Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School, Devonport |
"It was a pleasure to have Robot Man visit our school this week. The sessions were highly engaging and students loved this hands-on learning experience. Staff also appreciated Robot Man’s valuable and insightful Coding and Robotics professional development he offered."
Bethany Armstrong- Principal Northern Christian School |
"Robotman has been the best incursion we have had for a long time. Great learning and engagement was offered, with plenty of hands on robotic programming activities to suit all ages. Steve is clearly an experienced teacher and builds excellent rapport with kids and staff. The day is fantastic value, especially considering all of the robotic materials he supplies. Our whole school, from Prep - Grade 6 loved it and can’t wait to have him back next year!"
Andrea Long - Principal Westerway Primary School |
"Robot Man was fun and interesting. He enabled my students to engage at all levels with Robotics. They enjoyed working with the cubelets and found the challenges fantastic in guiding and expanding their thinking. They are excited for Robot Man to return!!!"
Janice Pieterse - Secondary Teacher Emmanuel Christian School |
"The Robot invasion was fantastic! The activities were intuitive, structured and well-organised, really hitting that coding and digital technology sweet spot that we’re all trying to do more of. The kids were engaged the whole time and had a lot of fun." Ryan Wade - 3/4 Teacher, Moonah Primary School. |
"Steve, the Robot Man, provided our students with an opportunity to think outside the square, problem solve and collaborate - everything that coding is about.
Challenges were pitched at just the right level, well supported, and open-ended enough to have the experts and novice in every age group fully engaged. Not just fun and not just educational. Although students were having so much fun the didn't notice they were learning, they could readily explain what they were doing and why. We look forward to having Steve back in the future." Christine Hibma Deputy Principal Chairo Christian School, Leongatha |
"Robot Man's workshop was so engaging and 'hands on' that the kids didn't even realise they were learning... serious fun!
Whether your students know a lot or a little about robotics, Robot Man will have them all designing, creating, constructing and coding by the end of the day... and they'll have awesome fun doing it." Allen Dickson - Learning and Innovation, Belgrave Heights Christian School |
"The students were so engaged and excited, with many never having a chance to do anything like that before. We already have two students who have started to dream that they might want to be engineers. It also helped the teachers to get a little bit excited too about coding and programming."
