Creating and coding Lego Mindstorm robots is highly engaging and educational. I have 10 Lego Mindstorms EV3 kits (with expansion packs and plenty of bionicle add-ons). These are ideal for up to 30 students (10 groups of up to three participants).

Sumo-Wrestling Battle-Bots

Out of all Robot Man workshops, this activity is the most popular. Students are given a base robot, and the they are shown how code and modify the construction of them in preparation for some adrenaline-pumping battles. This activity requires at least 80 minutes to complete, 90-100 is even better. Older students might be given an extra motor to create a weapon! Suits Grade 4 -Year 10 and even older! |

Mindstorms cup challenge

Using a light sensor, the students code their robot to stay on a circular board without falling off and at the same time they are using their own code ideas and construction to knock 8 cups off as quickly as possible. Its harder and more competitive than you think! |
